Limits

This page contains known Telepost limits and restrictions (found empirically).

Character limits in posts​

Each post type may have different limits:

  • Text: no more than 4000 characters
  • Photo: no more than 1024 characters

Data size in posts​

Each post type may have different limits:

  • Photo - an attempt to exceed the limit results in the error "Check the entered data":

    • size - no more than 5 MB
    • resolution - no more than 5000 pixels wide or high

  • Album - an attempt to exceed the limit results in the error Request Entity Too Large:

    • total size of all attached media files — no more than 50 MB

Number of posts​

No more than 500 posts per month.

An attempt to exceed the limit results in the error message (Error 429): Limit Exceeded. Too many posts created today, max: 500. Also applies to repeat posts.

Number of channels for publishing a post​

No more than 5 channels for (simultaneous) posting.

If more than 5 are selected, the "Save" button becomes inactive. More details in issue #22.

Number of uploaded files​

A maximum of 2000 files can be uploaded per day when creating posts.

An attempt to exceed the limit results in the error message (Error 429): Limit Exceeded. Max files uploaded today: 2000.

Number of connected channels/chats​

No more than 200 connected channels/chats per account.

An attempt to exceed the limit results in the error message: `Too many channels created. Maximum 200. More details in issue #96.

Limits may change in the future, and in any direction.
